David was mostly concentrating on the flying, but he could see the scans out of the corner of his eye. Marvick gasped.
David brought their speed down, not wanting to collide with anything or fly directly into the middle of the swarm.
Then Marvick swore, and Ford’s urgent tone came over the intercom. “Get out of there now, they’re swarming towards you!”
Gaby’s fighter was instantly beside him, but she had the same issue in her ship that his eyes were having. He couldn’t see any sign of anything. The lights that had glimmered in the distance were gone. The scan was telling him that they were now surrounded by these creatures, and if it was to be believed, they were going through everything, but his eyes saw nothing of the sort. Clear skies.
